Westville Man Sentenced to Three Year Prison Term for Stabbing Incident at Bowling Alley

Jorge Perez, 31, of Westville, pleaded guilty to third degree aggravated assault stemming from a March 6, 2017 stabbing that had taken place at Westbrook Bowling Lanes.

At approximately 1:49 a.m on March 6, Brooklawn Police Officers were dispatched to Westbrook Bowling Lanes for a report of a stabbing that had just occurred.


Upon the arrival of the first officer, he located a 26-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the groin area in the parking lot. It was reported by witnesses on scene that the suspect stabbed the victim during an argument, which started in the bar.

The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival, but witnesses provided officers with the name of a suspect. The victim was transported to Cooper Hospital and required emergency surgery.

After a lengthy investigation, Jorge Perez was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

•Criminal Attempt – Murder – 1st Degree
•Aggravated Assault with Bodily Injury – 2nd Degree
•Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose – 3rd Degree
•Unlawful Possession of a Weapon – 4th Degree
•Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 4th Degree.

On September 11, 2017, Perez pleaded guilty to third degree aggravated assault and was sentenced to a three year prison term on October 13, 2017, according to Alexandra McVeigh of the Camden County Prosecutor’s office.
