Emma, a soprano and aspiring opera singer, has been a dedicated member of the Philadelphia Girls’ Choir for three years, where she’s participated in its annual Opera Camp and regularly takes voice lessons in its vocal conservatory. Emma was a participant in the Opera Children’s Chorus with the Crested Butte Music Festival’s Opera in Paradise, and a participant in 2017 Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE) National Choir in Philadelphia.

BMFA Springboard Grant applicants must be of high school through college age and demonstrate how a BMFA grant would make a significant difference in their ability to achieve a specific project or goal. Emma will use her grant to produce the audition pre-screening videos required for her application to seven conservatories, including Curtis, Julliard and others, where she will seek a Bachelor of Music degree.

Emma stood out among 25 immensely talented applicants for the four available Springboard Grants.
