Cooper University Health Care Receives Accreditation From the Urgent Care Association of America

Cooper University Health Care, which operates four urgent care centers in the South Jersey region, has received the highest level of distinction from the Urgent Care Association of America.

Camden, NJ –  Cooper University Health Care, which operates four urgent care centers in the South Jersey region, has received the highest level of distinction from the Urgent Care Association of America.

The Accredited Urgent Care designation certifies that Cooper —  with centers located in Cherry Hill, Audubon, Runnemede and Cinnaminson, NJ —  has met all of the Urgent Care Association of America’s established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety, and scope of services.

“As the leading academic tertiary care health system in the region, we are committed to providing exceptional care in convenient locations where people live and work,” said Adrienne Kirby, PhD, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of Cooper University Health Care. “This accreditation affirms that patients are receiving the highest level of care when they choose Cooper Urgent Care.”

Cooper’s Urgent Care Centers provide a much-needed alternative to emergency department care when individuals need immediate medical treatment but cannot get in to see a primary care doctor, fulfilling an important gap on the health care spectrum of services.

“Unlike other models of Urgent Care Centers, our centers are staffed with board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians, the same highly skilled physicians who see patients in our emergency department in the hospital. This high-level of care is what sets Cooper apart,” said James J. Flowers, DO, MBA, FACEP, FACOEP, medical director for Cooper’s Urgent Care Centers.

Cooper Urgent Care Centers provide medical care on a walk-in basis—no appointment is necessary—for a variety of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries including infections, earaches, cold and flu, breaks and sprains, strep throat, minor scrapes and burns, pink eye, urinary tract infections, flu shots and other immunizations, as well as sports, school, and camp physicals, TB skin tests, and pregnancy tests. All of Cooper’s Urgent Care Centers offer on- site X-ray and an advance reservation system through Cooper’s website. Patients simply reserve a spot online and arrive at the appropriate time to avoid long waits.
