Brooklawn Police Arrest Westville Man in Stabbing Incident At Westbrook Bowling Lanes

The Brooklawn Police Department announced that a stabbing incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 6 at Westbrook Lanes. Jorge Perez of Westville was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.

On March 6, 2017 at approximately 1:49 a.m., Brooklawn Police Officers were dispatched to Westbrook Bowling Lanes for a report of a stabbing that just occurred. Upon the arrival of the first officer, he located a 26-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the groin area in the parking lot. It was reported by witnesses on scene that the suspect stabbed the victim during an argument, which started in the bar.

The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival, but witnesses provided officers with the name of a suspect. The victim was transported to Cooper Hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition after requiring emergency surgery.


After a lengthy investigation, Jorge Perez was arrested and charged for the stabbing. He was processed at police headquarters, issued a warrant, and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.

•Criminal Attempt – Murder – 1st Degree
•Aggravated Assault with Bodily Injury – 2nd Degree
•Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose – 3rd Degree
•Unlawful Possession of a Weapon – 4th Degree
•Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 4th Degree.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
