Ex-Barrington Fire Chief Charged With Sexual Assault

Camden County Prosecutor, Mary Eva Colallilo, announced on March 1, 2019 that Richard Rettinger, 42, of Barrington, has been arrested and charged with multiple sexual offenses against a minor child.

Richard Rettinger, who was the Fire Chief of Barrington, was charged on February 28, 2019, with second degree Sexual Assault, multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Contact as well as Endangering the Welfare of a Child according Colalillo.

The offenses are alleged to have occurred in his Barrington home.

Richard Rettinger was arrested on February 28 near his residence without incident. He is currently detained at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.
