Update: November 17, 2018 – Election still remains “unofficial.” I looked to see when the results of the 2017 Camden County Official Election were marked official and those are dated November 16, 2017.
The results of the 2016 Camden County Official Election are dated November 22, 2016. Hopefully, we will have official results very soon.
Update: November 13, 2018: I called the Camden County Board of Elections (11/13/2018) and the provisional ballots are still being counted.
Initial election returns showed that Groff’s vote count was 1,590 (50.56%) and Sauter’s vote count was 1,546 (49.16%). A difference of 44 votes!

On November 7, 2018, SJO spoke with a representative from the Camden County Board of Elections and asked about the mail-in votes, the provisional votes, and the votes that were registered at the Early Voting Center. We were told that nothing official is expected until Thursday and there is a two-day grace period as well.
On November 7, 2018, Bill Groff posted on the Bill Groff for Mayor 2018 Facebook page saying in part: “I understand that everyone is excited for information concerning the final results. The data we have shows that we won with all seven districts reporting. There has been data presented from my opponent that includes VBM ballots, data that we still have not been provided. We have been in contact with the CC Board of Elections and have been told that there still remains a large number of VBM [vote by mail] ballots to be counted along with provisional votes.”
On the Chuck Sauter for Mayor, Steve Hagerty and Craig Wilhelm for Council Facebook page, a November 7, 2018 post stated in part: “Thank you all for your support and patience. While Mail-In and Provisional Ballots are still being counted, our campaign is confident that Chuck Sauter will be our next Mayor. Mail-In Ballots must be received by the County Board of Election before close of polls on Election Day or postmarked by Election Day and received within 48 hours.”
