Bellmawr Park Mutual Housing: Preliminary & Final Major Site Plan

SJO has uploaded the Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan for the relocation and replacement of 12 Bellmawr Park Mutual Housing units. Because of the acquisition of 1.29 acres of property for NJDOT’s Direct Connection project, suitable land was to be found within Bellmawr Park for the new units.

As a result of the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s (NJDOT) I-295/I-76/Route 42 Interchange project, 12 Bellmawr Park Mutual Housing Units will be relocated and replaced.

Because of the acquisition of 1.29 acres of property for the Direct Connection project, suitable land was to be found within the remaining 75.4 acres of Bellmawr Park for the relocation of five buildings, representing 12 units, that will be demolished for right-of-way purposes.

The 12 impacted units are located on Hickory Place, Willow Place, and Victory Drive. Construction is to be completed by December, 2017 with occupancy in early 2018.

The matter was heard before the Bellmawr Zoning Board on October 18, 2016.

Three buildings that will house six units will be relocated to Essex Avenue. Two buildings that will house the remaining six units will be relocated to the “dead-end” area of Peach Road.

Tree clearing work is underway at the Essex Avenue location.
